Pitt Ohio/ECM
« on: October 28, 2007, 08:10:20 AM »
ECM is a Pittsburgh based truckload carrier that is now owned by Pitt Ohio.  The story I got is that Eddie Meyer married a sister of one of the Hammel brothers, they of the PittOhio Hammels, and when ECM got into financial trouble due to several accidents invovlving their trucks, PO bailed them out.  They've been sharing maintenance facilities for some time now, and recently I've seen more with rigs with mixed equipment.  The International in the first picture is an ECM daycab but lettered for Pitt Ohio.  I don't know for sure, but I think the only significance may just be that this is a tractor reassigned to the PO fleet.

That's interesting that they put the P-O lettering on the IH. It still has an ECM unit number.

Did you notice whether it had ECM or P-O lettering on the fairing?

I didn't notice at the time, but in looking at the photo, it may still have the ECM script on the airfoil.

I have seen this truck here in my area pulling both kinds of boxes also same with PO trucks pulling ECM boxes. I see them at Bruce Hardwood (Armstrong Flooring) in Beverly WV picking up TL shipments for PO if I can talk to them I will see whats up but the PO guy's don't say to much to us since they lost the Watkins interline freight. (I wish they still had it all residential freight!)

the ECM is still on the airfoil ... i saw a ECM / PO tractor today that took for me surprise -- then i see this post and it makes sense.  ECM has an awesome fleet though - lots of Chrome on the trucks and always clean you know ... saw a white international today hauling an ECM trailer and thought it was odd ... i can see clearly now ...

One of their new Mack daycabs at the Washington PA terminal last Sunday, and also a sleeper version.

Great shots Paul!

Hope you don't mind if I throw these in.

Greg and I caught this Pinnacle day cab (unit #E555) in Carlisle last year.

And I caught this Pinnacle sleeper resting in an industrial park in Scranton, PA a few weeks ago.

No not at all.  I knew a few sleeper cab Macks have been posted, but I wasn't sure if a daycab had shown up yet.

There were probably at least 10 of these new Cascadias at Fyda Freightliner in Canosburg PA today.

Well that's disappointing. :'( I was hoping for more Macks.
They are very sharp trucks however, and you got some great shots of them!

I was wondering if, along with the Macks, Cascadias or Prostars would be next up since ECM has been both an FL & Binder user in the past. Your pics answer the question Paul.........nice catch. 8)

Apparently here in Michigan I see a lot of Columbias.  Both daycabs, and sleepers

Mack Pinnacles are a bit rare,
Thanks for Looking!

Nice catches guys! I like those bulk tankers!

Sorry for the crappy shot, but I caught this Cascadia last month.
