Interesting that Conway is going to test the Evo day cab with the wheel covers. Other than the Preston GMC Batmobile, I can't think of another LTL truck utilizing wheel covers!

YRC new Volvos being delivered to Kansas City shop.  Will have photos soon.  Keep you eyes open for 3000 pieces of equipment ( think its a trailer order) for 2013.  Also, due to California emissions, new city tractors for California.

Hope they buy some trailers for Reddaway so we actually have something to load freight in after YRC ordered too many of our current trailers scrapped.  We have been short trailers all winter so I have no idea what will happen when it gets busy.  They told us we will get 80 new tractors (all going to California) and NO trailers.  Sigh.

Do you mean they order scrapped trailers, or did they have to scrap them right after they were purchased?

why is fedex buying so many tractors when they are using so much purchase and rail..Or are these just replacements for the trucks that wont meet the emissions mandate?

Greg:  They have been scrapping our trailers built in the mid to late 90's.  Many of these were in better shape than the trailers from Dugan and Bestway and in WAY better shape then the YRC trailers I have seen or pulled lately.  Now we don't have enough equipment to service our customers and our dispatchers have actually had to tell customers to use the competition as we had no trailers to send to them.  Not good business but a way of life for YRC.

Yrc is getting more money for old trailers as scrap metal, than selling them intact.  Scrappers will drive straight to the scrap yard, drop the trailer, remove the tires and wheels.  The cranes will pick them up, put them in the hopper, where they shread them.  The scrap is loaded into containers, and sent to India or China.

Ray, those white ones were probably just passing through. Line power just kind of bounces around the system.
The foot turned to the horse, the horse to the carriage, the carriage to the train, and the train to the truck.

The Columbia was probably for a dedicated account like Rite-Aid. I see them all the time.

Estes FL Cascadia sleeper for the TL division.......all white. :( Saw 2-3 today on I-95 in the Carolinas.

I can't recall if any of these had been posted yet.  I shot a couple on I-80 back in February, and there were several more at the West Middlesex PA terminal
