I am sure this is no news to you guys on here, but I'll take my chances anyway since it was a new sighting for me at least: USF something (Reddaway?) Prostar daycabs, northern California and Oregon. Looked real good.  8-)

Good to see Prostars are catching on with the ltl fleets as well.

I think Dave F. got to drive one, but even if he didn't he's seen them and gotten pics.

Reddaway has had them for quite some time now, but we have Holland out here, so all they've gotten are new Volvo VNM twin screw daycabs.  I like the diversity of Reddaway's fleet a bit more than Holland's, and I'm certainly glad you got to spot one of their nifty Prostars. 8-)

Reddaway got a few of the VNM's as well Chris, but none to my knowledge are twin screws, the only twin screws that I have heard of were the ProStars.

Well, the USF Prostars that I saw were single screws, both of them.

Reddaway has about 55 ProStars and 3 of these are tandems .  None of the Volvos are tandems but there is rumor we have more on order.

USF Volvo tandems must be an East Coast thing. I see them all the time.

Ray:  There are two divisions of USF and USF Holland probably has 800 Volvos and every one of them is a tandem. USF Holland has no single axle Volvos.  USF Reddaway on the other hand has no tandem axle Volvos and of the 125 of them we have they are all identical single axle tractors.

Dave's right, the two are pretty different.  Also something minor I noticed is that USF Holland kept the "USF" on the air shield with the conventional blue and orange stripes while Reddaway has just turned it to an all black logo.

I'm not positive if Holland has all tandems, there may be a rare single axle out there.  However I'm with most of you on there only being tandems as Holland's pretty much an all long box operation.  What I do hope is that they start buying some of those new Prostars.
