No, I hear that they are test tractors, atleast thats what the P&D driver told me, he said that they are both from Sacramento.

On Friday I was taking the pictures I posted from the overhead over I605 southbound. A UPS freight IH all redone in the new livery pulling an Overnite long box in old livery.  I thought I had the shot but the zoom was wrong and I ended up with the wind deflector and the top of the box.  still at the beginning of the learning curve. The tractor was probably an ex MC 2 axle

Was it one of the linehaul tractors, 9100? Or was it one of the P&D tractors, 8100?

To be honest Nate I don't really know the difference and looking thru the veiw finder it's hard to tell too much but it looked like it would pass for a line haul unit. Sorry the picture didn't come thru.

Here, one on the left is a 9100, and one on right is 8100. Nice that I can use one picture to explain the difference in 2 trucks.

OK I'm pretty sure it was an 8100 that I saw but will keep an eye open as they come by pretty often on the freeway.

One of the local Jevic shuttle guys has a 2008 Volvo. I was checking it out the other day. Nothing changed, but it's good looking nontheless. Saw one of the 2008 780's too, but that was up in Massachusetts.

Was it the same one that was pulling the motor cargo refer that you posted the other day?

Yes it was the same model as that one in the pic but I thought the one in the pic was all brown but hard to tell.

Then it was an International 8100.  Also, looking at your picture, you can see the yellow band separating the brown and silver on the back of the cab, so it's definetly a UPS Freight truck.

I was over there today and thought I had a shot but a car completely blanked out the tractor---from your discription of the two models this was a 9100 in UPS freight livery pulling an Overnite long box.  He was northbound. I can stand there for 10 minutes and 20 rigs go by but Its' hard to catch one without some other vehicle being alongside. I didn't have time to go up on the overhead and take some down shots. Housecleaning day here at the ranch. There are 6 lanes of traffic in the pics of the northbounds-4 going thru-one to exit to the 91 and the closest is the on lane from the overhead in the background. like Jack Webb used to say "this is the City".

At Roadway we are beginning to see a few 2008 Volvo's.  Was told by our asset manager,(or whatever they are calling him these day's) that Holland is getting the bulk of the new equipment at this time.  Yellow is testing a few Sterlings with the new Detroit.
Here are a few up close pic's, the only changes I see on the outside is the smog canister.  This has the Volvo motor.  As you may see in the tractor number, this is a 785075, first digit 7 is for twin screw, 8 the model year, 5 for Volvo, last 3, this is the 75th tractor purchased in this series.
