just like that on the tractor ---the trailer was a smooth side-grey with the acorn logo
from where I was standing I could see the logo but did not make out any other lettering if there was any.

Spotted an ex USF Red Star trailer today. Also was ex whatever the other one was (Meridian or Quality). Now branded YRC Logistics. Where did this outfit come from?  :?

Big L told me a little while ago that Meridian IQ and I think a few other small companies have been renamed YRC Logistics instead of Meridian IQ etc.  That may have been an ex-USF Distribution trailer you saw too.  Cool find though, haven't seen a rebrand in person... yet.

USF Glen Moore has had those since I've been looking out for them (which hasn't been long, only a few months). :-D  I think those are the norm for them.
The foot turned to the horse, the horse to the carriage, the carriage to the train, and the train to the truck.

USF Glen Moore has had 53' trailers for many years. We do quite a bit of repair work for them at Acme.
We go and look at the trailer in question. Do an estimate, and give it to them. They usually call us and say "come and get it and fix it".
I've had to apply the orange and blue stripes to several of their trailers.

I saw these trucks today:
2008 Kenworth T800 from FedEx Freight East on I-75 North in Forest Park, GA
2008 Freightliner CL120 58 mid roof sleeper from Old Dominion at the Old Dominion service center in Conley, GA

What a SCOOP!!! Charlie, however I find this logo dull enough. This livery was a lot more flaming  when it was paired with the TNT or USF logo.

Couldn't believe what I was seeing, but today I'm 90% sure I saw one of the new Roadway/Yellow flip logo long vans! Didn't know they would be down here already. And even better, it was being pulled by the small model International sonfle axle, former USF! No pic, couldn't catch up with him...

I've seen a flippable logo long van for Roadway as well Dave.  They look really cool in person, I saw one in New Mexico being pulled by an 8100.

Have seen quite a few like this in Kansas City.  YRC Logistics has a large warehouse here, just for Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy.  They are like Holland and Reddaway, no longer buying new equipment painted orange and white, just solid white trailers, with owner/operator tractors.

Saw some NEMF heater trailers the other day.

Also, today I saw a NEMF Volvo flattop. It had a really small sleeper, like a 30 some or 40 some inch sleeper, and a deflector on it.
