I drove one of our new extended cab T800s for a short bid and I thought they were great.  They definitely were much nicer than the older ones with more room inside and I prefer to drive a KW during the day, they have much less window area and the driver sits back a little.  The Volvos feel like you're sitting in a fishbowl with all the glass and everyone can see you.

I did notice that our new KWs have a air sliding 5th wheel, definitely a first for us.

No Super Singles either. I do like the looks of the Ext. cabs, I've been seeing some of them every now and then, pretty noticeable difference in the amount of cab space you get, really makes the difference if you slide your seat back, or stow a lot of gear behind your seat.

We are getting away from Super Singles on everything.  Most of our gears/converters that had them are not getting them replaced and the only tractors we had with them will keep them but we've not received any new power units with them since late 2005 when mine was delivered.

Not sure why we're getting sliding 5th wheels, the only trailers that have different kingpin settings are the West 28xxxx series pups and we are not supposed to pull one on the rear with one of the East gears (that being with D) but are fine when on the front.

One new thing I noticed on the new KWs are these fuel tank lights and they had switches for fog lights, but no fog lights on the bumper.  Also something mounted to the windshield like the lane departure systems we used to have.

I'll have to be keeping a lookout for all this new FXF equipment roogie.  I saw a lot of it on Saturday, but I couldn't tell if it was new or not.

I did see some other new equipment though.  I saw 5 new Con-way Sterlings.  4 of them were in the 2007 specs and one was 2008.  I noticed because it rode noticably lower than the others and the chrome around the grill had a smaller area.  I also saw two brand new UPS Freight International 9400s and a new UPS Freight Volvo VNL.  The VNMs were standard up here, but now they have both models.  And yes Nate, the IHs had passenger seats.

I have been seeing new trailers in the Roadway system.  750 more 53 footers.  New Walbash, but these are without any lettering on the sides, only lettered  on the front and back door. Will have pictures soon.
