I really dig the straight trucks R+L has been specíing over the past 2 or 3 years.

Awesome Sam. Hoping to eventually catch one of those Pete COE's one of these days, the conventional model is the dominant spec around here right now.

Some R+L from I-80 in Indiana and Ohio in 2013.

You picked some great spots for spotting Greg, nice shots of those triples. Can't remember the last time I saw a R+L 386.

That rest area was about 8 miles away from the OH/IN border. It has since been shut down. I think you have to drive another 40 miles or so to the next one in Indiana where there is much more openness for truck photos.

You talking about this one?

So I assume this would be the next best place?

I ask because I took 2 trips to Detroit last year to chase the only remaining NS Roadrailer down into Lafayette, IN but my one attempt to go spotting on I-80 was pretty terrible. So I'm looking for a new spot that isn't too far on the western side of Indiana where I can safely get some shots.

I shot this Pete 386 at the tandem trailer area off I-80 in Maumee OH on 6-10-14 right before the driver pulled out for his return trip west.

That would appear to be it. Fremont was the one we were at. Donít linger too long in one spot with the rest areas. My friend and I were told to leave by the State Police after a few hours 😂

Only really see the Macks for R+L over in the east and midwest.

The Macks are slowly dying out both in my area & from what I see in my travels Greg. Mostly Pete 579s, FL Columbias and International Prostars. I wonder how long the Volvos lasted?

I still see a Mack Vision or two with a liftgate over here. I see Peterbilt 579s, International 9400s, and Freightliner Columbias too though.
