Title: March at my local spot.
Post by: G. Laplante on March 16, 2013, 11:57:44 AM
Up to now March have not been good  for maple syrop making : too cold during the day , to warm during the night. Between working periods at my son sugar place, I had time to make a few stop at my local truck spotting spot. I should have enough pics to post  a few selections during the following days.

This bright yellow W-900 is identified with the letter V.I.T. . I know nothing about this carrier, maybe an individual trucker from Beauce County.

L.V. Lomas is from Brampton ON.  For some time this winter they had a new KW T-680 from PacLease. This one is identified to them.

Acier Victoria is a steel distributor based in Victoriaville Qc. All the trucks in their private fleet have a little something that make them interesting.

Seaboard from Nova Scotia took over Harmac from Ontario a few years ago. We still see new trucks identified  only to Seaboard, other only to Harmac and quite a few  as Seaboard-Harmac.

This Argosy day cab which was identified with Transport Robert last fall  is now identified to Transport Watson but once in a while he is pulling Robert trailers. There is close links between those two carriers and it is not rare to  see trucks from one carrier pulling  trailers for the other.

This small Kenworth flat bed from AIM haul  equipments for their division Delsan. Delsan is a specialist in demolition and environment works.

It appears Gerard that winter is still in force in your area. Here in central Maine all snow is gone and we are playing in mud on the rural gravel road. With daytime temps near forty and down to twenty at night, the sap is flowing good. Hopefully things improve in your area.

My favorite of this serie would be the Peterbilt day cab for Acier Victoria. The lights, two tone paint, and a bit of chrome make it stand out.

That Argosy sure looks strange as a day cab,I don't think I have ever seen one before.

Goulet Trucking is a bulk hauler based in South Dearfield MA.  They are mostly regional carrier all over New England. Last year I have seen one of their trucks once or twice in my neck of the wood. In the first week of March I have catched six of them within one hour and last week  in about the same period of time I have seen six more.  So I thing it may be worth  to make a six pack with a selection of them.  On their web site they said to operate 40 trucks . Most of the trucks seem to be green .  Fleet seem to be a variety of Paccar trucks but the few 2013 I have seen are Western Star.

Growing up in the Albany NY area and traveling to Massachusetts/CT quite often, I'd see quite a few Goulet rigs.  They predominately are a hazardous waste hauler, contaminated soil...that sort of thing.  You guys might have figured that by the amount of placards on their dump trailers and the extra waste numbers on the trailers.  Cool catch, never knew they made it up in your neck of the woods though.  That's a little out of their territory!  haha

Thank's guys for the comments.  Here is some pics I took last Monday.  Snow was almost all gone, trucks were clean but  as the afternoon was going on the overcast became darker and snow started to fall a few hours after.  At the end we received more than 35 cm of new white stuff.

Seem that the " new " Photobucket have tricky ways to handled pics. I never know  in which order the pics I upload will come in the library. So I will start here with the bonus. Some old stuff, an old Mack-Renault Midliner hauling an even older John Deere tractor.

A quite nice Coronado Mk I leased to Transport Robert

I bet considering they were probably only 5 hrs from home.  I wonder if they were doing some special gig that was maximizing their hours and they all were able to get their 34-hr restart in up there rather than bounce home for the weekend.

Here is some   pics I took last week at my local spot.

Transport SM grey Pete with a load of Canam Roadster, BRP three wheels road bikes.

Photobucket is always changing the order I upload pics. Here is my bonus, a Ford Econoline with a bunk. Maybe it's an RV hauler, they have often some odd set up in this field of transportation.

A Volvo with a nice livery for Diversco System out of Cambridge ON.

A nice KW K-100 for Martin Express, an 0/0 leased to Placements Tanguay out of St-Gedeon in Beauce County. St-Gedeon is the hometown of Canam Steel. As long I can remember, this truck have always worked all year long and he is kept in great shape.

This K-100 come from the same area than Couture Logistics. There is a few structural steel manufacturers in Beauce County and they have often contracts in the oil patch.  Years ago they were sending truck from the West to pick up the loads.  Now it seem that Quebec trucks make the delivery in the West. I guess that return loads should not easy to find.

Thank's guys for the comments.  I have returned to my spot at the end of the afternoon last Tuesday. A car was parked there. The guy seem to be on a kind of observation mission. So I turn back and return to my former favorite spot, the " curve ". Quite a few trucks but most I have  seen dozen of time.  Late afternoon sun was playing in the clouds so light conditions were changing rapidly.

I don't know about C.R. . I see their trucks once in a while, This Pinnacle is new for me.

G&S Direct is a logistic company based in Brampton ON.  Usually I see straight trucks with them.

I see this Reimers truck about every  time  I visit my spot. Seem to be returning to his base in the Montreal area at the end of  his daily run.

About every time I go truck spotting I may see up to a half dozen Cascades trucks. When they  have started renewing their fleet 4-5 years ago, they have taken some KW t-600 & T660 and Volvo VN 780. Now all the newer trucks are Cascadia.

CBR is a small flat bed  fleet based in St-Georges in Beauce County. They run a mix of Mack and Peterbilt that they keep for many years. This  Pinnacle Rawhide seem to be a new acquisition.

Richard Carrier Trucking is from Skowhagen Me.

As a bonus this new Provost bus in the new Limocar livery.  They do the run between Sherbrooke and Montreal several time each day. There is about 150 km between downtown Sherbrooke to downtown Montreal and it take about two hours. Limocar is a division of Veola Transport. A big European company. I think that Norseman is driving for them in Norway.

Express Girard is a flat bed hauler based in the Chicoutimi area.

Cavalier Transportation is from Bolton ON. It's a nice fleet that I don't see often. I was quite surprised by this day cab.

I have read that Muir's Cartage from Concord ON will be going only with 0/0 . I guess that this one with a former CN Intermodal truck is one of them.  I see them often in town unloading at Home Depot and Future Shop.

Am I the only one to notice the big bunk 9300 in you earlier post looks like it has two bunks put together, one forward and one backwards ?

Good catch. Seems to be a closed case to me, looks like he extended the sleeper by stretching the frame, and for reasons unknown (either he had no choice or he wanted to do something unique) he turned the front end of the sleeper around and stuck it on the back of his.

S/N but really should be the main note, this thread is full of great pictures of great trucks in great spots. Miss you Gerard, hope your health issues are resolved by now. And if they aren't, keep fighting. Hope to see you back someday.
