Title: Euro mixers
Post by: Felipe Garcia on July 04, 2007, 08:27:08 AM
The only 6x4 Scania in the Cemex Mexico fleet, this was a demonstrator, I don't know if Cemex kept it or was returned to Scania, after trying this, the 20 8x4s arrived, but I never got the chance to take pictures of them.

The demonstrator used by Coamco, the Renault dealer here in Panama

This one has been parked at the dealer for some time, I have no idea if it's already sold, I have like a month without passing by the dealership.

Cool photos. How common are COE mixers and how do they compare to the conventionals (i.e. driver preference, performance, etc.)?

Not common. The last time I saw one in service was more than a year ago, I know that a construction company has some, but I have since May 2006 I believe without seeing one. Concreto y Construcciones ran a few Samsung SM510 and Hyundai HD270, but after Cemex bought the company those mixers were gone.

Here, all the euro mixers are 8x4 but we have a bunch of older macks and internationals which are usually 6x4.

All the mixers here in the UK are more or less 6x4 like the scania, the odd few have a couple of 8x4's. Nice pictures felipe.

Nice shots! I've shot a few mixers, too, we have both 6x4 and 8x4 mixers here, of all kinds, basically. There are three large cement companies in my area, and all of them have trucks like these. I'll post a few later. :)

Here are a few from Jærbetong, which is closest to where I live. I'll post the two other companies another day.
First, here's a shot of Jærbetong's cement plant near the town of Nærbø.

Jærbetong also have a few mixer trailers like these, which are normally pulled by tractors from Risa and SR. They don't have any tractors of their own.

Nice, I like the Volvos and the Actros.

Glad you like them. :) Do you have Mercedes trucks in Mexico, or just Freightliners, like the US?

Cool photos, Jan.  :-) I like those TGAs and Kerax. Do you have any photos of Ginaf's or Terberg's? I love seeing those trucks, even though I don't really care for the new Volvo cab styling.

Glad you like them. :) Unfortunately, I have no Ginaf or Terberg photos, as we don't have either make here in Norway. I do think they are very cool, though, and if I happen to take a trip to Holland some time, I will make sure to get some Ginaf and Terberg pics.

All of them are company trucks, if so that's a big fleet.

Yes, all of the mixers around here are company trucks, and both these companies, as well as the third one whose trucks I will post tomorrow, are rather large, and have pretty new and decent equipment as well.

We used to have Mercedes L-Lines, but around 2000 they stopped selling them and now Mercedes only sells buses.

Those Actros and MANs look very nice.
