Bill Comcowich died in January, 2005. He had worked his way through dental school by driving trucks during summer vacations. When he was practicing dentistry in Aspen, CO, he discovered an abandoned 1953 Mack and had it restored exactly like the truck he drove with owner-operator N.E. Blackmore hauling produce and swinging meat. "Doc" became an ambassador for old trucks and the men who drove them. He appeared in one of Lindsay Crawford's ATHS members videos with his Mack, and hosted the DVD set titled "Trucks With 2 Sticks". He occasionally taught dentistry in foreign countries. While in Australia he took the opportunity to drive some of their rigs. He always drove one of his antique trucks in the Aspen Fourth of July parade. After his retirement, he got a job driving a brand-new 18-wheeler Freightliner, hauling team gear to all of the Air Force Academy's away football games.
